2018 Enclave battery replacement anything I should know

I've got a 2018 Buick Enclave that needs a new battery, and I'm planning to tackle the replacement myself. I came across a post that mentioned something about the vent tube connection, so I wanted to check in. Is there anything else I should keep in mind while doing the swap? Also, am I going to lose any settings or run into any hiccups after I change the battery? Any tips would be hugely appreciated

Easily doable yourself and the vent tube isn't something scary. Make sure the new battery has a vent port where you'll plug in the tube. Once you unhook the battery you'll loose all setings in the radio and stuff like that which is fine with most people. If you don't want to lose your settings, you can get one of those battery thinkigies that plug into the obd port, no idea what theyre' called. Other than that you're good to go

You could lose some electronic settings like the radio, clock, or seat memory unless you use a memory saver tool during the swap. I definitely learned this lesson the hard way when I swapped the battery in my wife's old Mini Cooper. I didn't realize there was a vent tube connection, so I just grabbed a generic battery that fit but didn't have that vent port. A couple of weeks later, the trunk started smelling like sulfur, and I noticed some light corrosion around the battery tray. In the end, I had to replace it again with the correct battery that had the vent tube.

And of course, I lost all her radio presets and clock settings because I didn't think to use a memory saver.

Make sure the new battery has a vent port and reconnect the tube, its important for cabin safety, although you might lose radio presets and clock, but nothing serious and you should use a memory saver if you want to keep settings.
