Planning ahead for winter HUD problem

I've got a 2021 Buick Enclave Essence in Toronto and I'm already thinking about what to expect when winter rolls back around. Last year the HUD sat way too low on those sub-freezing mornings and it made me question whether it was a defect. Once temps rose it corrected itself every time. Has anyone asked their dealer if this is just cold-weather contraction or if a fix exists?

I drive a 2019 Buick Enclave Premium in LA, so I don't get freezing weather here. But I did spend one winter in Denver, and the HUD dropped a bit on cold mornings too. Once the car warmed up, it went back to normal. The dealer said it's probably the dashboard shrinking from the cold. It's normal and not a big problem. They didn't have a fix, but said warming up the car before driving can help.

Thanks for sharing your experience, @Darvick_1956. I noticed the same thing last winter in Toronto with my 2021 Essence. On cold mornings, the HUD would drop but always went back to normal once the cabin warmed up. I haven't seen any official fix from GM or Buick, and my dealer said it's probably because the dashboard materials contract in the cold. This winter, I'll try pre-warming the cabin again and see if the display moves more than usual. Has anyone tried adjusting the HUD by hand after it warms up, or does it stay stuck until it resets? If nothing changes by mid-winter, I'll check in with the dealer again.
